My six-part series on the overcrowding in the Coshocton County Jail won second place in the Best Community Service category from the Associated Press Society of Ohio.

Third place best feature writer from the Associated Press of Ohio.

2001

Named member of the honorary journalism society Kappa Tau Alpha in May 2001.

“Funding restrictions may hurt Kent State” won a Certificate of Special Merit in the national Spot News Writing Competition of the William Randolph Hearst Journalism Awards Program.
